This piece was slip cast meaning that I made an original clay model and created a plaster mold. I pour liquid clay (called Slip) into this mold and let it sit for a few hours to build up a shell. The liquid clay gets poured out and allowed to dry and removed from the mold. This process allows me to create them and glaze each in a variety of colors. This particular glaze I call Pompeiin ash and is one of my favorite of my own recipes. It is glazed inside so it can be used as a vase.
Stands 8.5" tall.
