This piece was partially made on the potter's wheel and partially handbuilt. The color is a combination of a specific glaze and it was put into a "soda fire" gas kiln at a very high temperature. The vaporization of the sodium creates the soft dark and lusterous surface combinded with the off white glaze with pigments underneath.  This can hold water too so it can be used as a bud vase. This stands 4.25"/11cm in height.
