I made this piece on the potters' wheel and then added wet clay. I carved her hair and other details with sharp carving tools.  This piece is stoneware, fired really hot to Cone 10. At that temperature the clay is totally non-porous and can hold water. She's glazed with a copper base glaze. Louise stands 7"/17cm in height.
