This piece was made on the potter's wheel. It is made of high fire stoneware clay fired in an Anagama kiln to a temperature of about cone 12 (that's really super hot to those who don't know cones).

  He stands 5.75"/13cm in height. When this type of clay is fired to this temperature upwards to about 2400*F, it becomes fairly non-porous so it will hold liquid and this can be used as a vase or utensils.
