This piece was partially made on the potter's wheel and partially handbuilt. The colors are ceramic pigments and it was put into a "soda fire" gas kiln at a very high temperature. The vaporization of the sodium creates the soft dark and lusterous surface. This can hold water too so it can be used as a bud vase. This stands 6.5"/16cm in height.
